Dating to about 1850, this beautiful gold tiara is set with round and leaf-shaped cabochon garnets in the form of a half-circlet of flowers and foliage. Made in England, the tiara shows the sort of requisite ornament worn by aristocratic English ladies at important functions. Similarly, it’s wholly demonstrative of the jewelry designs of the 1850s—designs which relied on natural ornament and motifs based on the beauty of the English garden

  2. I feel so relieved right now.  I just got back from dogsitting for my neighbor.  She has two pomeranian puppies and a 15/16 year old golden retriever (CJ is her name) who is the sweetest dog to walk the planet.  I was so afraid that CJ had died because I hadn’t seen her the last time I was at their house, but she was there today and greeted me and sat with me for a while and I’m so glad she’s not dead because a) it would break my heart and b) my neighbor’s husband just died a few months ago so the last thing she needs is her dog that she’s had longer than her marriage to die.

My only question is, why was CJ was wearing a t-shirt?  Yeah.  She was wearing a t-shirt.  The only answers I can think of are that she’s scratching and it’s to deter her or she’s been getting cold easily and it’s to keep her warm.  She doesn’t seem to mind it, which is good, but it’s the first time I’ve ever seen her with it and it’s going to drive me nuts until I know why.

Getting tired of the incessant love songs on the radio.

You’d think people could find something else in the whole wide world to sing about.

    Something actually compelling.

    Like murder mysteries.

    1. Mom: Do you want a male or a female Hershey bar?
    2. Me: ...uh.

When the future of England, her colonies, and basically the entire world is jeopardised by a secret order of radical scientific geniuses who call themselves ‘Advanced Idea Mechanics’, the Queen herself establishes a covert league of extraordinary gentlemen (and women) to foil the A.I.M.’s nefarious intentions and restore peace and order in the Realm.

  15. Also I just found one of my Medieval England books in my bed.  I forgot I fell asleep with it last night.
